When families are involved in their children’s learning, their children do better in school!
Involvement can occur at home, in the school or through a combination of both.
We invite and encourage parents to make a difference to their child by participating in the school inside and outside of the classroom. A little can mean alot to a child.
There are 4 ways you can contribute to Mutchmor School Council:
Volunteer Member at Large:
- Volunteer your time to help out at a special events such as the school milk program, pizza lunches, Christmas Breakfast, Summer BBQ, the Great Glebe Garage Sale, and the Greening of the Mutchmor Playing Field to name a few.
Committee Member
- Serve on a special or standing committee of the Council dealing with issues such as fundraising, outdoor spaces, and upcoming reviews of downtown schools (accommodation reviews).
Special Event Co-ordinator
- Take the lead as a Co-ordinator of a special event (i.e. Christmas Breakfast, Summer BBQ, and the Great Glebe Garage Sale).
- This would involve event planning, organizing and co-ordinating the tasks of other volunteers.
Council Member
- Oversee the financial, and operational management of the council.
- This requires the commitment to attend monthly council meetings.
Current volunteer-at-large opportunities include:
1) Great Glebe Garage Sale (Sat May 29, 2010) - table setup/takedown, parking attendants, selling at the Mutchmor table, etc.
2) Mutchmor Parking Fundraiser (during SuperEx 2010: August 19-29)
