School Council is a fantastic way to get tapped into the school community. Being an active member opens the door to countless opportunities and enrichment for our children. School Council hopes all parents will share their ideas and their time to keep our great programs and initiatives alive. All Parents are welcome!
Studies show that there is a positive relationship between family involvement and student success, regardless of race/ethnicity, class, or parents’ level of education. When families are involved in their children’s learning, their children do better in school. We welcome participation of all types!
All meetings are on the fourth Monday of the month at 7pm in the computer lab. Next Council meeting is on:
Monday Sept 27, 2010 - in the computer lab at 7pm! Come out and participate!
The School Board has indicated that our school will be part of an Area Review possibly starting in Sept 2011, so it is important that our entire community understands Mutchmor and the value it offers within the community! For example:
• the benefits and joys of learning to read and write in English first,
• Core French (200 minutes/week) for grades 1-6, and 20 min/day in JK & SK,
• gym classes EVERY day in one of our 2 gyms,
• the use of advanced technology in EVERY classroom,
• smaller school population,
• our school’s diversity,
• the benefits of special education and the congregated gifted classes,
• our fabulous teachers,
• our engaged parents,
• our large outdoor field (behind Corpus) used for recesses (gr 3-6), skating and gym classes,
• benefits of the nearby community centre
